Splash

A great way to avoid the warm temperatures of summer.
At Aqua Natura Murcia (part of Terra Natura Murcia), you can enjoy different ways to refresh with water as water slides.
Here you can see other angles of this water attraction, that I took in 2011 with great quality: 1 and 2.

Molino del Tio Paco

Spanish windmills are well known around the world by Don Quixote of La Mancha, the book written by Miguel de Cervantes (published in 1605). So windwills of La Mancha are the best known.
At Region of Murcia there are currently cataloged 212 windmills. Of these, 14 are in the town of Torre-Pacheco. There is tour to visit and to known more about these windmills organized by Tourism Office of Torre-Pacheco.
There were two types of windmills: flour mill and drawing water mill.
In the image, a windmill for milling grain into flour. All windmils has been named. This one is: Molino del Tío Paco (Uncle Paco's Windmill). It is located in El Jimenano, at Torre-Pacheco municipallity.
Called Uncle Paco, because the first mill owner, Don Francisco Alvarez was called under this nickname. This was in 1838. This windmill was in used since 1838 till 1936 (this date remainds me the start of Spanish Civil War).
In another post, I will talk more about windmills in Region of Murcia.

Looking for a Sandy Place

As I commented yesterday, due to the next festivity (August 15th), it could be difficult to find a place to put a beach umbrella on the sand.
But it is worth swimming in the Mediterranean water (or Mar Menor water if you prefer).

At Region of Murcia there are some amazing interior places where you can swim. One of them is "Salto del Usero" in the Mula river at Bullas town.
This place is well known nowadays so I invited you to come on May to June and on September to October, that there will be less people in it.

At Cape Palos, and surroundings (Marine Reserve of Cape Palos and Ants Islands / Reserva Marina de Cabo de Palos e Islas Hormigas), there are awesome views to make a diving visit : fishes, sea stars, marine flowers, sunken ships. I really recommend.

August'16 Theme Day. My City's Skyline.

August starts with My City's Skyline Theme Day.
Murcia has different skylines depend on the selected view. From the modern of the latest neighbourhoods with large avenues, to the old neighbourhoods with narrow streets following the islamic medieval city scheme.
This picture shows the old one. I had taken from Tower of Cathedral of Murcia. First left, you can see Epicopal palace roof (Bishop's palace) (and part of its facade), second left, Town Hall roof. First center, new Town Hall offices (Moneo's building). Background, old Victoria hotel building, and on left of this building, Segura river and Manterola's bridge.
I invited you to visit other skylines of Region of Murcia:
- Cartagena
- La Manga
- Aledo
