From the Street to the Museum

A temporary colourist and beautiful exhibition at MUBAM. "Urban art: From the street to the museum". Until July 5th.
85 graffities have been exposed from street artists around the world at MUBAM.

- On the right, Peace, graffiti made by Obey (USA). Shepard Fairey was one of the first graffiti artists of the late twentieth century to propagate the technique of stickers as a street intervention. He is known for his works with mixed technique of great dimensions with which wallpapering in different countries to which he travels. His portrait of Barack Obama with the legend "Hope" was used by the former president of the United States during his presidential campaign. (Source: MUBAM).
- On the left, Statue of Liberty, by Blek le Rat. Xavier Prou, better known as Blek Le Rat made contact with graffiti in 1971 on a trip to New York, 10 years later tried to emulate it in the streets of Paris. It is considered the "father of the stencil" (template). British graffiti artist Banksy acknowledged Blek's influence saying "every time I think I've painted something slightly original I realize that Blek Le Rat did it better, only twenty years earlier."
