Capone riding a Bike

That is a funny graffiti with Capone letters and Tetris blocks/bricks.

I purposely captured the rider because I liked the idea of Al Capone on a bike.

That graffiti is located between Segura river and the beginning of Ciudad de Almeria avenue.

Hestia

TrIbute to Murcia as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2020. That graffiti was made by Kraser and Nels and she is Hestia, greek goddess of the hearth, home, domesticity, virginity, family, and the state. It is 180 square meters located in the neighborhood of El Carmen.

In 2020, Murcia had to be the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy (1001 flavors), but due to pandemic are going to be held on 2021.

December'20 Theme Day: Comfort Food.

At CityDailyPhoto community, the Theme Day for December 2020 is "Comfort Food". From definition on Wikipedia: "Comfort food is kinds of food that provides a nostalgic or sentimental value to someone, and may be characterized by its high caloric nature, high carbohydrate level, or simple preparation. The nostalgia may be specific to an individual, or it may apply to a specific culture."

Well, taking that definition, I have selected: paparajotes as my comfort food. That is the most famous dessert from Murcian cuisine.

Below, the recipe:

A piece of lemon-leaf batter. It's a dessert that although it is somewhat rustic, is delicious. Indeed, there is NOT eating the leaves, just the batter.

Then, ingredients and preparation of paparajote. I hope you enjoy it. -2 Eggs -1 / 2 liters of milk -1 / 2 on yeast -500 Gr flour -100 Gr Sugar -Olive oil -Sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle -A pinch of salt -Lemon-leaves

Beat the eggs, and milk is added, the yeast and the salt is removed by adding all the flour to form that supports a creamy mass.

Put the olive oil to heat, when hot are wetting the leaves of lemon in the dough and fried.

You can eat as they leave the pan, sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. It may be accompanied by ice cream.

Bon profit!

Here you can see thumbnails of all participants on Theme Day.

Gone to the Wind

I have tried to find any information about that windmill but I could not.

At Cartagena fields (Campo de Cartagena), it was built hundreds of windmills between XVIII and XIX centuries to offer services for grinding cereals or to raise groundwater. Most of them where in use to later 40's (1949).

More info here.

A New Beginning

There is a Spanish saying that says: "Who gets up early, God helps him/her" ("A quien madruga Dios le ayuda"). Well, we will have to get up early. But there is also another Spanish saying that says: "No por mucho madrugar amanece más temprano" that literally means "Not by much getting up early it dawns earlier" but perhaps means "Time must take its course" or "the early bird does not always catch the worm".

Anyway, that is a sunrise taken on a north entry to Murcia city.

Biscuter on the Road

It is nice to see old (vintage) cars on streets.

That is a Biscúter, (pronunciation of BiScooter). It was a microcar manufactured in Spain, by Auto Nacional, SA, from 1953 to 1960, total of all versions around 10,000 units. That car  was minimal indeed, with no doors or windows or reverse gear. The 1 cylinder, 197 cc, two-stroke motor produced 9 horsepower. One genuinely advanced feature was an all-aluminum body, although steel was later used.

The playful name implied that it was about the size of two motorscooters, or a scooter with four wheels. But it soon became known as the Zapatilla, or little shoe (clog).

"Ugly as a Biscúter" was a common joke. (Source: Wikipedia)

No doubt that 2020 it has been the most fear year on late times. And this year I could not see children groups asking for 'trick or treating'. The only thing missing was the bogeyman appeared, but, maybe even he is afraid.

Welcome to the Cinema

On 2020 June, Cinemas reopened their doors. 4 months later, cinemas are empties and it is a pity to see that image. Finally, only 6 people watch the film, on Saturday :o

I invite you to be back to cinemas and theatres, with face mask, of course.

Live Classical Music under Social Distance.

Last September 18th, 2020, the concert season of the Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra began at Victor Villegas Auditorium. And they did it with the Symphony No. 9 'From the New World' by Antonin Dvorák. A good choice for these times.

Here you can watch and listen it (it was recorded a previous week than the concert live). Enjoy it!
