Don Quixote in Jail.
To attract customers, the restaurant Universal Pacoche (more), uses the figure of Don Quixote.
The photo was made outside opening hours, and keep this figure. When open to the public, draw the figure to the street, especially to attract tourists.
This restaurant is Murcian cuisine. Opened in 1945.
Don Quixote is undoubtedly the most famous Spanish literary character in the world. It is a mockery to the stories of knights who has written much of the sixteenth century and early seventeenth century. Don Quixote was written by Miguel de Cervantes. The author, known as "faulty of Lepanto", fought in the battle of Lepanto, where he lost his arm. All this was before writing his masterpiece.

Monumental Sculptures. Lady Of Elche. 200th anniversary of Darwin
Following the monumental sculptures by Manolo Valdés (more on his work here). La Dama de Elche (Lady of Elche) is a tribute to the original. The original is a bust Iberian IV or V century b. C.
These bronze sculptures have become a tourist attraction. It is on display at the Avenue Alfonso X. It's a pity that the exposure is fleeting.
Google Spain honors in his homepage to Charles Darwin (12 February 1809 / 19 April 1882). More on the proponent of modern biology, here.

Monumental Sculptures. Lady with Hat in the Santo Domingo Square.
I have written repeatedly of buildings, churches, streets that are in or adjacent to the Santo Domingo Square. So drawing on the series of monumental sculptures I can show this Murcian central square.
Market Square in the Middle Ages, a beautiful fountain in the middle and solid porches complement the square at that time. A double door communicated with the city and on this door, the council met occasionally during the Middle Ages until the seventeenth century was the prison of the Knights. At present two elements dominate the square: the impressive ficus planted in 1893 (on the left of the image) and the front of the church of Santo Domingo, whose membership dominates the image of San Vicente Ferrer, who remembers a sermon given on this square in 1409. Monumental Sculptures. "Meninas".
Throughout this week I will publish several photos of an exhibition of monumental sculptures, by the artist Manolo Valdés. (wiki in spanish)
The exhibition, which is on the streets, organized by La Caixa Foundation. It is exposed on the Avenue Alfonso X "El Sabio" (The Sage) and the Santo Domingo's square.
In the photo you can see the play called Meninas. Tribute to the painting "Las Meninas" by Velázquez. These Meninas are at the beginning of the street Trapería.
"The artist uses solder as an expressive, while stressing the cracks of the book, to emphasize its aristocratic side. The exhibition presents Fundación "la Caixa" consists of 15 monumental sculptures, most created for this project, through which the artist exhibited a large group of spectacular huge head, with the idea of converting the genre of portraiture corporizar. The spaces in each city emblematic of Spanish territory is carried out where the sample will be occupied by such figures without an accurate characterization, but they possess an extraordinary expressive force. Crisis in construction.
In Murcia, in Spain, the economic crisis is hitting very hard on the construction industry. This has resulted in many buildings and houses are under construction to stop because there are no buyers. Banks do not give credit, and buyers can have it even harder for asquirir housing.
Furthermore, the construction drags many trades: bricklayers, form workers, plumbers, painters, glaziers, blacksmiths, brick, flooring manufacturers, furniture companies, carpenters, locksmiths, electricians ,.... And so much more.
But despite the massive layoffs, the unions do not organize mass strikes or general strikes.
Hopefully soon we emerge from this economic crisis.

This garden is located in the Camachos' Square. This square connects the bridge of Peligros (Old Bridge) with the neighborhood of El Carmen.
In the picture you can see a moving fountain. When the vessel is filled up of water, falls under its own weight and fill the bottom.
History: This was the first bullring in Murcia. Built between 1742, when he gave Jaime Bort and 1769 when the project was completed.
