Pine Processionary
Image of a nest of processionary caterpillar larvae in a pine tree.
This is a quite widespread pest in all Mediterranean pine forests. Although also affects cedars and firs.
The pest in question, is a voracious leaf dining.

Colourful Playground
I remember when I was a child, the playgrounds were not as protected as now. Then the floor was dirt, the slides were made of iron, which in the winter could not be used because they were very cold, and in summer, burned. Swings were made of iron, or were made of used tires.
And we are still alive.

Pine Tree Touching A Full Moon
Last night was an amazing full moon, and seemed that the pine tree wanted to touch with its spiky leaves the lady of the night that lights the dark.

Sunset January 2013
Today was a day of high winds and storms in Spain, including Murcia. This strong atmospheric phenomenon is known by meteorologists as explosive cyclogenesis.
In the end it has cleared and the sun came out. Although several deaths have occurred in the Region of Murcia, a wall collapsed due to strong winds.

Sweentens Life
The Region of Murcia is a major world producer of all kinds of candies, sweets, lollipops.
Companies like Caramelos Cerdan (s. 1914), Vidal Golosinas (s. 1963), and Golosinas Fini (s.1970's), are world leaders in their sector, and are from the Region of Murcia.
In the picture, a new candy store opened by the company Fini in a very central location of Murcia: between Romea Square and the Santo Domingo Square.

Cafe Del Arco
This cafe is located between Romea Theater square, and Santo Domingo square, near the Arc of Santo Domingo, is there since the 80s. In 2011, it was an impressive reform.
It's a good place for coffee, tapas. I recommend visiting it, at least for its architecture (designed by an acquaintance of mine). Here you can see photos inside.

Extra Theme Day: Festival of the Belly Button
This Theme Day of the CytyDailyPhoto community is really a looking at the past. Well a look at how we have grown taking pictures. I think if I changed something is in the frames, and find the details that go undetected.

Rear Window
A poor quality photo taken with a mobile phone. I will return to this place to take a better picture with my camera.
This is not the film Rear Window (here you can see the trailer from the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock's film). It is a large window of a mega gym.

The Owl Country. El País Del Búho.
The City of Murcia is promoting the candidacy to get the statement of the Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO of the Mountains and Country of Murcia (Sierras y Campo de Murcia).
The proposal of the Biosphere Reserve of the Mountains and Country of Murcia covers an area of 57,200 hectares.
88.5% of the land belongs to the municipality of Murcia, 7.5% to Alhama de Murcia and 4% to Fuente Alamo.
This area is noted for its high importance for the conservation of biodiversity: here are large populations of protected flora and hosts most known density of pairs of eagle owl (Bubo bubo) and is one of the largest areas of large scattering Mediterranean raptors.

The last image from the The Three Kings parade. An octopus at Chritsmas? Maybe it is from the Octopus's garden by The Beatles.

Preparing The New Year's Eve 2012
New Year's Eve, there are many parties prepared at home, private, or public, such as it is done every year at the Santo Domingo square. Orchestra, lucky grapes, cotilllón, and many desire to have fun, and totally free.

January Theme Day: Best Photo Of 2012. Happy New Year.
Well, although this year there is not a Theme Day for January, I have wanted to continue the tradition of which I have taken part in the last (almost) five years. So far, the first day of the year was used to do a retrospective of the previous year in order to choose the picture the best we like about our own blog.
The picture I have chosen is the one that I published to celebrate Mother's Day in May 2012.
Other choices:
- My post 1000th
- A montage of a thunderstorm (GIF)
- The photo of the 4th anniversary of MurciaDailyPhoto
Happy 2013 to you all.
Finally, someone (Gerald England) of the CityDailyPhoto community has mobilized the community and created a space to publish together the classic Theme Day of New Year's Day: Best Photo of the Year. Here you can see a list of participants (thumbnails). Please do not fail to visit.
