Audrey Hepburn was a really fashion icon and a recognised actress legend, and she did a great humanitarian work.

Metamorphosis

Image of a grasshopper at the time of its metamorphosis. It is the first time I see this. Really shocking. It's like an alien.

Welcome Arch

From last Fair of Murcia (Feria de Murcia 2016).
This year, the city of Murcia has recovered an ancient tradition that was to place a floral arch on Old Bridge, and welcome all those who came to visit the Feria de Murcia. For those who do not know, until 1900, there were only a bridge that crossed the River Segura in Murcia city: the Old Bridge, so all those visitors from the right side bank of the river had to go through this bridge.

Los Huertos 2016.

Photos are accumulating unpublished. And sometimes, therefore getting late to publish.
This image is from last Fair of Murcia (September 1st to 12th). At El Malecon gardens, there were held "Los Huertos": a place to eat typical food of Murcia, drink awesome wines of Region of Murcia (with great success of public).
There were craft demonstrations that were made by the Regional Guild of Handicraft.
It is also the place where the "Moors and Christians" camp is mounted, another of the festivals celebrated during those days.

Carthaginians and Romans 2016

During the second half of September in Cartagena is the feast of Carthaginians and Romans.
Cartagena - Cartago Nova (Roman) - Qart Hadasht (Carthaginian) was founded about the year 227 B. C. by Carthaginian general Hasdrubal. The Carthaginian presence in it would be fleeting because in 209 B.C., during the Second Punic War was conquered by the Roman Scipio.
This latter is what is commemorated during the festival of Carthaginians and Romans. This year, from September 16th to 25th.
"A disembarkment commemorates the taking of the city, in the year 209 a.c. by the Roman troops of Escipio. This is the reason of a festive week in which days dedicated to one side or the other alternate. The marriage between Hannibal and Himilce or the day of the Roman Circus, with its gladiators and wild beasts, are the pillars of a huge parade which takes place on Saturday (Saturday, 24th). This Saturday, 24th, will be the most important day of the festivity, when the troops and legions march through the city." (Source: murciaturistica.es)

Sailing and Wakeboarding

Last saturday, on Segura River waters.
From this perspective, both activities were very close.
It was an amazing day to have the opportunity to see this show in the mid-town of Murcia.

It was really amazing to see those wakeboard riders last Saturday.

Murcia Urban Wakeboarding

Yesterday was held the 1st Murcia Urban Wakeboarding. It was held at Segura River.
It was amazing to see how those "riders" could jump in many differents ways. Really awesome!

Crowned by the Ferris Wheel.

This year, the Fair of Murcia started on September the 1st (till September 13th). Many activities for festivity days for all people. The right for having a Fair at Murcia was given by the King Alfonso X, The Wise.
This year is helding the 750 anniversary of Council of Murcia, given by King Alfonso X in 1266.

San Pedro del Pinatar

A roundabout giving you a welcome to San Pedro del Pinatar.
San Pedro del Pinatar is a coastal town in the Region of Murcia, with access to the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea.
It is a traditional fishing village and salt production (here is the Regional Park of Salinas / Salt Flats and Arenales / Sandy Terrains of San Pedro del Pinatar).

Molino de la Hortichuela

This widmill was dedicated to the extraction of water for agricultural and livestock use. It has a circular sole with a diameter of about 7 meters, while height reaches about 8 meters, in addition to the wooden conical roof that crowns. The length of the blades of the windmill is 14 meters. It is built with stones and mortar, and whitewashed. Attached to it there are a pond and a waterwheel, in which the bucket were placed, small containers of mud, with which the water was drawn. Its facade is the number of the year in which it was built, 1870.
One thing that I did not mention in the previous post was that the roof can be rotated, so the miller could turn it from the stick /mast  that rests on the ground (right windmill in the image), so he could place it against wind and take advantage of wind power.
It is located in La Hortichuela, at Torre-Pacheco municipallity.

Sept'16 Theme Day. Library.

This time, the Theme Day selected by citydailyphoto community is: Library.
The image is the main library at Region of Murcia, named: Regional Library. This year is its 20th anniversary.
