In the district of El Carmen is the institute.
This institute was originally built as an institute for women (the first in Murcia) and normal school teachers. What exists today is the result of many changes since its initial design in May 1941 by the architect Jose Luis de Leon. The site chosen was due to the existence of a plot attached to the former headquarters of the University (the current public school Carmen), who had already left campus to be becoming a school. Since the 2005-2006 academic year, the institute has moved to a new modern building. Other day I'll show you the new building.
