Next To The Beach
I took this picture because I like the design of this house of mid-twentieth century. Although what really like about this house is that it is only 10 meters from the sandy beach. True luxury.

Watchtower
Although August is ending, there is still September, to enjoy the beach. At least the first 15 days.
About the photo, one of the watchtowers of the lifeguard on the Torre Derribada beach. The photo could have won a prize ;-), if I had taken my camera, but I did it with mobile phone camera.
I advance that next day September 2 (and one day before last year) will begin the Feria of Murcia. I will try to show all the events that happen (if I can) from 2 to 13 September.

Heat Wave.
A mass of warm air from Africa is going through the southeast of Spain. Yesterday, the Meteorological Agency warned Valencia, Alicante and Murcia, with the highest level (red alert) with respect to temperature.
Perhaps the best place is soaking in the sea (or air conditioning).
First photo: beach of Los Alcazares, Mar Menor.
Second image: 42 degrees near the coast, although in the city of Murcia, at the same time, 47 degrees Celsius.

Hydroaeroplane
The summer is usually a fire season. There are fires that are caused (as has happened in a few weeks ago in Galicia), others are by negligent accident (as seems to have happened a few days in Ibiza, see awesome video) and other, by natural causes.
Fortunately, in the Region of Murcia, this season, we're saved (knock on wood).
In the picture, although bad, seaplane flying over the sea.

Tram Depot
This huge industrial building, will become in the depot of the tram of Murcia.
Since late 2009, the tram, which is not yet a reality, has changed its name: before was "Tranvimur", now "Tranvía de Murcia". And two new companies have taken over this project: FCC and COMSA-ENTE. In principle it is expected that the line 0, which was already working for free since early 2009 and that during this month of August has had to stop, it will not be available until late September.
Hopefully, the final line 1 begin to be available for the first half of 2011.
This line 1, will connect the city with the universities of Murcia (UMU and UCAM), and shopping centers (Thader and New Condomina).

Fishing In The River
I took this photo last week. Fishermen on the Segura River, as it passes through the city of Murcia.
Until not long ago, this picture was unthinkable. Luckily, and through the efforts of governments and citizens, which was a dirty river (appeared in that way in the board game Trivial Pursuit), today is a river full of life.

Terra Natura Murcia: African Savannah
Today I finish the trilogy of Terra Natura Murcia, by showing this picture of the area of the African Savannah. This is a broad plain where you can see: ostriches, zebras, red dwarf buffalo, eland eland (largest of antelopes), damalisco, gazelle and wildebeest.

Terra Natura Murcia: Iberian Peninsula Area
As I mentioned yesterday at the Terra Natura Murcia zoo, there are two habitats. In the area of the Iberian Peninsula can be seen, among others, these Iberian brown bears. The Iberian brown bear is the smallest of all brown bears in the world: two meters in length and 180 kg (in the case of males, the female is 25% smaller).
At the background of the image, you can see the city of Murcia.

Terra Natura Murcia: Zoo And Water Park
I visited for two days Terra Natura Murcia, a zoo, and a water park. It is located about 5-10 minutes away from the city of Murcia. In the zoo you can see two groups of habitats: the Iberian Peninsula and the African Savannah.
From this I will tell you another day.
Today, sea lion exhibit. With these sea lions, you have the opportunity to swim with them.
Web site: Terra Natura Murcia and Aqua Natura Murcia
"Terra Natura Murcia is a new-generation wildlife park of 165,445 m², where you can discover the “Zooimmersion” experience – a new concept in habitat design which will enable you to come into contact with the animals as if there were no barriers between you – at least, no visible ones! What Heat!
Last Wednesday, it was a very hot day in Murcia. In the first image 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit), at 6 pm, in the shade, in the sun: 44 degrees Celsius (111.2 F).
In the second photo, although it is little, 47 degrees centigrade (116.6 F), at 4 pm, in the sun.
What heat!
Luckily, it rained on Friday enough, and has cooled the air.

This statue takes a few years put into this place (after a major refurbishment). Here you can see the statue that it was before (the picture is from the 70's)

Arcades Of The Cathedral Of Murcia. Soportales De La Catedral De Murcia.
Under the large volume occupied by the House of the Canons and Diocesan Museum, is a picturesque gallery open to the street popularly known as "Los Soportales." This is an arcade racer around the perimeter of the building, whose baroque arches of half point and groin vaults were part originally in the cathedral cloister.
Today, these arcades are filled with shops of all kinds: library, shoes, baby clothes, an energy company.

Ads On The Beach
Seeing this parasol, I could not avoid taking a photo, listing to the umbrella.
I think that the umbrella can be achieved by buying two packs of 48 cans of coke.
I wish CocaCola can see MurciaDailyPhoto and it could make a donation. ;-)

Circus
The circus. It was called "The Greatest Show on Earth" or at least in the 1952 film directed by Cecil B. DeMille, starring Charlton Heston and James Stewart.
Perhaps, in recent years, the amount of audience that goes to the circus has decreased, but there is something rather surprising: the expectation that it generates in a child.
The picture: Circo Quirós in Los Alcázares.

Avenue Of Liberty
The Liberty Avenue has been so, after several years of work. Here you can see a shot I took from this same place a year ago (more or less). At the end (after several changes to the project) it has remained a pedestrian avenue, under which there is a parking. Above, places to sit and a playground.
Before the works could go by car, and both sides of the streets had parking areas.

Monument To Fisherman
This sculpture is located on the beach at Los Alcazares in the same municipality. Along the banks of the Mar Menor is this tribute to the men who live off the sea, a hard work, and soon compensated (financially) today.
