Pasos De Santiago Church

16th century. It is a Mudejar church, witch could be the oldest temple in all the Region of Murcia. It only has one nave with transversal arches and wooden ceiling. The church was part, along with other chapels, of the way of the Cross, but currently just a shrine located on the corner of Acisclo Diaz street and Pasos de Santiago still remains. The way of the Cross ceremony started from San Miguel church, and the Cofradía del Rosario (the Rosario Brotherhood) and the group Los Caballeros de Santiago (the Gentlemen of santiago) participated here. Iron Bridge.

That bridge was opened to traffic in 1902, but since 2003, is a pedestrian bridge (in 2001 it was closed to the public, and in 2002 began the work). It is known as the Puente de Hierro (Iron Bridge) or Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), because in the city of Murcia, until then, there was only one bridge, the Old Bridge.
Pedestrian it was decided, because the bridge could not withstand the current traffic since the early twentieth century, the number of vehicles had substantially lower.

Hotel 7 Coronas

Another 4-star hotels in the city of Murcia, the Hotel 7 Coronas (Crowns) (the name comes from the flag of Region of Murcia, in which there are 7 crowns plus 4 towers, but this will tell another time)
Currently, this hotel is managed by Hoteles Silken.
This hotel has always been to Murcians, one of the most prestigious hotel. In its restaurant you can taste a good gastronomic menu. It has large rooms for celebrations. I remember one New Year's Eve at that hotel, where I really had a great time.

Sundial

Sundial can be found in the garden of saltpeter (jardin del Salitre) (gunpowder old garden, antiguo jardín de ls Pólvora).
I am a big supporter of graffiti, but what can not be, is to use this art as a form of vandalism.

Correos. Post Office.

In Spain, the state postal service (Correos), is going to be completely privatized. As I think, for some years, part of the postal service is private, or semi-private. But now comes the liberalization of the postal service.

Children's Day

Universal Children's Day takes place on November 20 annually. First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was established to encourage all countries to institute a day, firstly to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world's children. It was also chosen as the day to celebrate childhood. More, in wikipedia, here.

JC1

Along the Avenida Juan Carlos I (JC1), the new business area, is this building, or rather, this architectural complex, since, in addition to an office tower, which are: a 4-star hotel managed by Sercotel, an urban spa, fitness center, a cultural center and a kindergarten.

MarMenor Swimming Pool. Piscina Municipal MarMenor.

In the city of Murcia there are several public air-conditioned swimming pools. This swimming pool (MarMenor) is located in the Santa Maria de Gracia neighborhood, next to Avenida Juan Carlos I, at the José Barnés sports complex.

Ibermutuamur

Mutual of occupational accidents and occupational diseases in the national Social Security.
Ibermutuamur began operations in 1926 and is the result of the mutual integration of provincial and regional level, constituting today one of the first mutual in Spain.

Mercedes Building

On top of that building you can see the Mercedes logo. In the basement of the building, there is a Mercedes Benz dealership.
There is a joke about the owners of these cars: what looks like a haunted castle, and a Mercedes? In which both of them come out ghosts. (I apologize to those owners).

Urban Birds

In several gardens in the city of Murcia, you can see these posters which show the different birds that can be found at the scene.

This entryway is part of the Salzillo Museum (see yesterday).
This entryway is very similar to the facade of the Almodovar Palace.

Museo Salzillo. Salzillo Museum.

20th century. Located in Church of Jesus in 1957. This church was declared a Historic Artistic national Monument in 1935 and the museum pieces were added in 1962. It is the appropiate location to convey the important legacy of the Murcian sculptor Francisco Salzillo; it is contains different floats of the Holy Week processions, a series of sculptures not related to the Passion and rough draft sketches, and a nativity scene, created between 1780-1800 for Jesualdo Riquelme, which was started by Salzillo and completed by his apprentice Roque López. Murcia Bus Station. Estación De Autobuses De Murcia.

At the center of Murcia (neighborhood of San Andrés), there is the Bus Station of Murcia (Estación de Autobuses de Murcia). From and to this bus station, buses arriving from differents cities of Spain, and, from most European countries and outside Europe, as Ukraine.

Tourist Bin

In some areas, in the center of Murcia, you can find bins adorned with tourist photos. The photo, next to the Town Hall, is a Nazarene, in Murcia's Holy Week.

Spying

Although it is a bad picture (made with mobile phone), no less interesting :-).
The little that it can see it is that they are firefighters making practices. When I took the picture, these firemen were digging a car, breaking it, to gain access to its interior, in a fictitious case of an accident, and save the victim.

10th SeCyT 2010

As I told you, I've been very busy with the birth of my second child, not that I did not post my photo for the November Theme Day the CityDailyCommunity. I did not want to stop. This photo is my contribution. A bus from the city of Murcia.

After many days without being able to post photos, because of the birth of my second son (October 29), here I return.
The picture today, it makes sense. In this issue 8 (Teniente Montesinos Street, building INTI) is the civil registration, where Murcians should to go (within 30 days) after the birth of a child, to enroll him/her (for it to be considered person.) So today, my second son, already exists for the state administration.
The Civil Registry is the place where officially declares the existence, status and condition of the people, gathering data on birth, parentage, name, surname, emancipation, empowerment of age, marriage and death.
Its origins date back to 1870, when it was enacted 'Civil Registry Law Provisional', which would remain unchanged until 1957. (Source: regmurcia.com)
