To comment about this photo, I've been browsing wikipedia, and I found that there are a variety of shapes and colours on this insect. It is a predator of mosquitoes, flies, bees, wasps, spiders ...
This dragonfly posed for me and it bore me to make several pictures from different angles and distances. This picture I took just 10 centimeters from the insect.
Felicidades, impresionante, maravillosa, parece estar suspendido en el aire.

Wow! I have never seen a red dragonfly. That makes is truly dragonish! Now if it only breathed fire! - Thanks for sharing this! So cool! - And just yesterday I was surrounded by dragonflies, blue ones, green ones, brown ones, and blue/green ones, but not a single red. I will be watching out for those now!
ResponderEliminarDinopas: Gracias por alagar mi foto. Todo el mérito es de la libélula que aguantó pacientemente a que le tomase la foto "perfecta".
ResponderEliminarRachel: For me it's the first time I've seen a red dragonfly. Amazing!

ResponderEliminarHello! Thanks for your comment and sharing your own photo of red dragonflies. The little red ones I saw near my boat were similar color, but very small, no more than about 1-inch in length, if that. The one in my SDP post was about 2-inches long - a giant by comparison. The green ones I saw did remind me of Huey helicopters, both in color and shape, while the blue ones looked like pilots with darkened visors pulled down over blue helmets.
ResponderEliminarthis is cool, I've never seen a red dragon before, happy 2016 :)
