Huerto de los Cipreses
In Spain, between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, two confiscations (forced expropriations of ecclesiastical land and property) took place, although a third occurred in mid-19th century.
During this period, the land of the Convent of San Francisco was expropriated to build a botanical garden. Adjacent to this, there were a series of private orchards, which were purchased by the Murcia City Council in the 1970s to expand the botanical garden. One of these orchards was the "Huerto de los Cipreses," of which only the entrance doorway remains. On that land, there once stood a building with twin towers, which you can see at the following link.
Currently, it is located at El Malecon gardens next to El Malecon promenade.
