Parachuting Training

 A few months ago, I have the opportunity to access to a training session of PAPEA (AIR ARMY SKYDIVING ACROBATIC PATROL), the parachute professional acrobatic team of Spanish Air and Space Force, at Alcantarilla air base.

"Created in 1978 at the Méndez Parada Military Parachuting School located at the Alcantarilla air base, Murcia. On January 12, 1952, in Alcantarilla, Lieutenant Abajo performed the first delayed opening parachute launch (manual opening) from 1000 meters above sea level, with this performance beginning the free fall parachute jump modality in Spain.

As the repository of all the lessons learned and given the need to place Spain within the high level of the countries around us, in 1978 an independent unit was created that brings together the expert personnel of the two parachute units located then and now in Alcantarilla air base:

A New Beginning
