Surely the smokestack image is not the highest in the world, but is higher than behind (metallic).
This is one of the industrial chimneys that can be found within the city of Murcia. That chimney is very close to the train station.
Whether you are from a political party, or any other, in democratic elections, has won DEMOCRACY. Although you do not like the result. Here, the official website of the European Elections 2014.
Picture: ballot papers at a polling station, of the various political parties that have been submitted by Spain.
These are those things that show that Region of Murcia was submerged 9 million years ago: a fossil shell, in a cluster of stones.
I took this photo in the mountain area of Sierra Espuña. Here another picture on the subject.
Yes, it's a caper flower. And yes, it has fallen very low. In fact this plant, its flowers and fruit, not lift a foot off the ground.
It is a wild plant that can be found in several areas of the Mediterranean. One is to the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, where it is the Region of Murcia. For this plant, you can eat the leaves, stems, their buds; fruit. It is usually done in pickle, and usually accompany salads, pasta, and fish.
The red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus, is a species of snout beetle also known as the Asian palm weevil or sago palm weevil. Weevil larvae can excavate holes in the trunk of a palm trees up to a metre long, thereby weakening and eventually killing the host plant. As a result, the weevil is considered a major pest in palm plantations, including the coconut palm, date palm and oil palm. Originally from tropical Asia, the red palm weevil has spread to Africa and Europe, reaching the Mediterranean in the 1980s. It was first recorded in Spain in 1994, and in France in 2006. The effects of red palm weevil have been devastating and still remain .
From 2005 there was an explosion of this pest out of control areas , which affected even Elche (Alicante), where the largest palm grove in Europe, due to increased demand for palm trees to the urbanization of avenues and areas many residential villages favored the entry of this parasite from exporting countries.
In addition , the strong demand for palms led to cheap ones and fewer controls but that ended up contaminating Canaria palm species , the most common in Spain . This was another little-known effect of the real estate boom , in this case luxury estates and municipalities with ornamental reforms.
The plague affects strongly, Murcia, Valencia, Andalusia .
The only solution so far is prevention , controlling the entry of new palm trees from other countries. With palm trees affected , the remedy is to destroy the plant. But now it has been discovered that a native fungus can destroy this insect. The first trials in Elche with the native fungus ' Beauveria bassiana" have demonstrated a 75 % efficacy against the red palm weevil , in biological control options are investigated to end this scourge, which affects the Elche palm grove. That red palm weevil appeared a few days ago at my backyard, but I did not know the name of that beetle, and it went flying away. Next time I will have to kill it.
That jacaranda tree, looks like an explosion of fireworks.
The tree is in front of the company Econex, a company born in 1986 (the building is 2007) where they develop traps and pheromones to stop crop pests ecologically.
Nine million years ago, the Region of Murcia (and most of the Iberian Península, Spain) was submerged under water. In some parts of the Region, it can be found shells of molluscs, whether sea turtle shells.
In the picture, stony corals.

This year, 75000 people have attended to the SOS 4.8 Festival.
Today is Mother's Day in Spain. I hope all that people make, at least, a call to their mothers.
Here some photos that I took for that theme: 2012 and 2013.
To withstand 48 hours of music at SOS 4.8 Festival, also need resting. Besides hotels and inns of the city of Murcia (which are 100% occupied), have also provided two camping areas: one in the Espinardo Campus of University of Murcia (900 people) and another area, La Condomina football stadium (we now call it the old Condomina, because there is a new stadium) also 900, in the picture took by F.G-L.E. (a good friend).
Everything is ready for the 7th edition of the SOS 4.8 festival of music, art and symposia, most importantly in the Region of Murcia. More than 90 performances, about 75000 viewers (80% from outside the Region of Murcia). 48 hours of festival.
This year, in the music section, will be: Pet Shop Boys, The Prodigy, Damon Albarn (from Blur), Phoenix, The Kooks, ... More at the official website.
