Murcia 3 Cultures 2022

"Murcia, known for its generosity and tolerance, not only by vocation but also by tradition and history, a city that has been an example of coexistence since Christians, Jews and Muslims coexisted in peace under the reign of Alfonso X El Sabio, has become, year after year, the ideal setting to enjoy music and dance from the five continents, a valuable example of the cultural enrichment that diversity entails, and to spread a message of solidarity, dialogue, peace and respect.

The Murcia Three Cultures International Festival turns the most outstanding public spaces of the city into the agora where artistic figures from different disciplines from all over the world meet. The concerts that invade the city are performed by artists who convey, through their styles and fusions, how easy it is to approach other cultures through Sephardic music, jazz, sacred melodies, Balkan and Indian rhythms. , Andalusian music, gospel, hip hop, gypsy, Persian music or flamenco among others, get to know them and be able to banish fears, objections and rejections." 2 Seas

From that landscape lookout you can see two seas. On the left: Mar Menor, and on the right Mediterranean sea. That picture was taken from La Manga Club resort area. The mot elevate mountain on taht view is Eagle Peak, and a little space of sand on the Mediterranean coast is Regional Park of Calblanque (see label).

About Mar Menor: "The lagoon that we know today as Mar Menor was formed at the beginning of the Quaternary era (2,000,000 BC), on a bay that extended from Cabo de Palos (Cape Palos) to what we know today as El Mojón (San Pedro del Pinatar), in Murcia" (Source: ElDiario.es)

Hare Hunted

What's the origin of name Spain for our country? Well, the origin it seems that comes from phoenicians that arrived at Iberian Peninsula on 1100 bC (BCE), and they named that place: "I-Spin-Ya" (meaning land of rabbits). During Roman period, they named: "Hispania". That name, due to the sound that it was said, turned to España (Spagna in Italian, Espanha in Portuguese, or Espagne in French).

About picture. When you go outskirts of cities for a walk, it is easy to see rabbits or hares running out (early in the morning).
