Awesome!

A warm week starts. Although it is being a mild summer (remember that Murcia use to be many days at 40ºC on summer) this week is going to be very hot. It is going to reach 40ºC.
So, we only can go out at sunset to walk safely.

Renfe

The name that appears in front of that train is the Spanish acronym of National Network of the Spanish Railways. This public company was founded in 1941, after Spanish Civil War (remember that end on 1939).
This picture was taken at Murcia Railway Station.

Segura River at Blanca

I have shown photos of the Segura river from several locations in the Region of Murcia. This is the first time I do it from Blanca. This town, about 20 minutes from the city of Murcia, organizes river descents by canoe or raft. It is also a very recommendable place to go hiking and to eat, especially during the hunting season (for eating).
Here the official tourist web of  Blanca.

Porké

Puerto Lumbreras is a town located at southwest of Region of Murcia. It is a frontier town with Andalusia.
Image: Porké Bar. A good place to eat (fast food), listening to music, and so on. Also, table footbal (foosball) as image. There are two terraces: one outdoor and one indoor (backyard). Porké means "why" or "because". I was not asking about that.

Arriving to Murcia by Train

In 2015, this railway line turned 150 years old. The station from which this image has been made is the Murcia Del Carmen station.
From this station there are trains of short distance, medium distance and long distance (towards Madrid and towards the south of France, passing through the Valencian Community and Catalonia).
In principle, this railway had a provisional character, and the arrival of high speed train is expected. This railway line divides the city of Murcia. And, with the arrival of high speed, the undergrounding of the railway is planned (something that the neighbours have been claiming for decades)

Walking as a Military

Until the mid-1990s, these spaces of the former artillery barracks (image: courtyard of knowledge) were occupied by the artillery regiment.
This complex of military buildings dates from 1926. First it was an infantry regiment from Seville. Then, in 1954, it was the first headquarters of the ground army paratrooper brigade.
Nowadays, as I have commented in other post before (please visit the labels artillery and barracks), it is composed by 6 cultural, social, playful buildings: library, museums, exhibition halls, music conservatory, and the bailey (inner ward). It is usually used for music concerts, in addition to other uses.
These spaces were donated to Council of Murcia on 1997.

July'18 Theme Day. Spirit.

The selected Theme Day for July 2018 by citydailyphoto community is: Spirit.
My contribution. on the left, former catholic seminary that was used on summers (until 70's). I think that seminarians looked for spiritual moment at that site. Now it is abandoned.
It is located at Monastery of La Fuensanta surroundings.

That building remainds me that hotel from "The Shining". And it could be a good place for a hotel with a beautiful views of Segura valley and Murcia valley.
