One of the "barracas" (huts) areas: in the Chinese garden. Throughout the city, during the week of the Spring Festival, you can found barracas, where you can taste the traditional Murcian food. Until recently, they used to make this areas following the tradition of including a hut: hut of mud and whitewashed. This was the traditional home of orchard areas in the southeast of Spain.

Easter Sunday 2011
Photo of the final procession of Holy Week: the Procession of the Resurrection (here, last year).
Easter in Spain, has been soaked by rain, and many of the most famous processions could not leave. Fortunately, in Murcia, we had better weather, and most of the processions could go out. So, both locals and tourists, we were able to enjoy Easter.
And now, today, beginning the Spring Festival, a week of eating, drinking, enjoying the street, light, colours: Bando de la Huerta, Spring Parade, Murcian Meat Pie Day, Burial of the Sardine. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us.

Good Friday 2011
We are at Easter Week, and I had not had the opportunity to show Murcian Easter 2011 yet.
Like other years, I have taken photos of the Holy Friday procession in the morning: the procession of the Salzillos. In the picture, "la oración en el huerto" ("agony in the Garden"), 1754, made by Francisco Salzillo.

This sculpture entitled "Venus in bicycle" is the work of Murcian artist Antonio Campillo Párraga (who died in May 2009, at 82 years of age). This sculpture was awarded the National Sculpture Prize in 1969. It is located next to the Almudí Palace since June 2009.

April 2011 Theme Day: Edges.
There are months when the theme day chosen is a bit abstract. As this month: Edges.
So after thinking for a while, I took a picture of the edge of this building, or, the edges of this building, there are many.
