Tren Disi
This is a fantastic murcian new orleans jazz quintet. They have come together to play (for now) only for these days. Since last Monday, until tomorrow morning, this quintet are playing music (well played) through several streets of the city of Murcia (morning and evening). They travel in a small train.
Really fantastic. Its provisional name: Tren Disi. (Disi Train)
This is one of those times when I do not know what picture to choose, so here I publish another one.
Which do you prefer?

Street Theatre
There are many free activities during Christmas time (at Spain, until January 6th).
Image: Aurora Redondo theatre company.
The play: Gaya Empress and Mr Dirty the Cruel (La Emperatriz Gaya y Don Mugre el Cruel). A fantastic "green" story for children and adults too. A story about avoiding consumerism, squandering, and to maintain forests, gardens, clean.

Snow Mountain
With 18ºC, it is very complicated to have any snow at Murcia city. In that case, we have to bring artificial mountains to simulate a tobbogan run. Very funny!

Panoramic In Health Research
At El Palmar, a village of Murcia, it is the Arrixaca Hospital complex (two big buildings on the center-right). In the middle: maternal and child hospital. On the right: general hospital.
But on this picture I want to highlight the big building on the left. 7 flats to research on biomedical projects. 144 labs. It is the "Biomedical Research Laboratories of Health Science University Campus" of the University of Murcia (Laboratorios de Investigación Biomédica del Campus Universitario de Ciencias de la Salud). It has housed the IMIB: Instituto Murciano de Investigación Biosanitaria (Murcian Institute for Biomedical Research)

Penthouse Overlooking
Another of the peculiarities of La Serreta cave, is that the cave was occupied from the Neolithic by many settlements. This cave is the only one of the Iberian peninsula where there are remains of a Roman settlement. A Roman settlement from the end of the Roman empire.

La Serreta Rock Art
This image is a summary of more than 50 images-figures that can be found on the walls of La Serreta cave. Paintings from Neolithic (17000 to 15000 bC)
The highlight is the image you can see on top-right. Could it be the first bullfighter in history? Archaeologists think that it could be a god, a divinity, because it is the only human form that it has like a hat, and the lines around it, it is like a radiance. In the place that it is this "toreador", bottom of it, there are 3 figures as worshiping, foming a triangle.
On bottom-right, it is a similar divinity, although more schematic.
These cave paintings are World Heritage by UNESCO since 1998.
For reservations and guided tours: Tourist Office of Cieza.

Descending Thousands Of Years
Continuing the journey through time, we must descend 16 meters to get to step on the same stage as our forefatjers 17,000 to 15,000 years ago. Entering from the same place as our ancestors did.

Timetrip
In the coming days I invite you to take a timetravel through the cave-chasm of La Serreta.
I will show you, from cave paintings of 7000 years old (declared World Heritage by UNESCO), to the unique Roman cave habitat in Spain. In addition to spectacular views of the Almadenes canyon, through which the rough waters of the Segura river pass.
For reservations and guided tours: Tourist Office of Cieza.

Mar Menor As Caribbean Sea
Continuing from yesterday.
"Historically, it was known by the Romans as Palus and later by the Moors as Al Buhayrat Al Qsarand. In the 17th century its name changed to Mar Chico, meaning "small sea" and later as El Mar Menor. Originally, it was a bay opening into the Mediterranean; at either end, volcanic reefs gradually held back the sand and sediment that was dragged along by the sea currents to form a sandy column of dunes and rock vegetation and long beaches in contact with two seas. La Manga sandbar is cut off by natural channels that keep the two seas in contact with each other; the so-called golas allow water from the Mediterranean into the lake. As such, the space was untouched until the 1960s, when La Manga was discovered as a tourist resort and underwent a transformation which included the urbanisation of the area and the construction of tourist infrastructures." (Source: wikipedia) More info: here, official tourist website.
From this side, La Manga and Mar Menor looks like a beach at the Caribbean Sea. I commented at some previous posts that Mar Menor is the perfect place to practice sea sports.

La Manga & Mar Menor
3 weeks ago I took this photo. Yes, in October. There was still good days to have a sunbath and a bath at Mar Menor.
This photo was taken from the end of La Manga to the start of the same place. La Manga of Mar Menor (Sandbar of Mar Menor) is a sea side spit limiting Mar Menor. Therefore, it has two seas: Mar Menor and Mediterranean.
The strip is 22Km long and 200 meters to 1,5Km wide, separating Mediterranean Sea from Mar Menor (Minor Sea) salt lagoon, from Cape Palos to Punta del Mojón. (Tomorrow more about this place).
