Bullring And Ancient Roman Amphitheatre Of Cartagena
The first thing you see in the picture, is the structure of the old bullring in Cartagena. Built between 1853 and 1854, and inaugurated in August 1854. The last bullfight was in March 1986.
The bullring was built on the ruins of Ancient Roman Amphitheatre (bottom left of image). It is thought to be built in the first century B.C. It is also thought that in addition to other spectacles, naval recreations were made because channels were found which would serve to drain the ring of the amphitheater.
The existence of the amphitheater, it seems, that has always been aware of its existence: "The Roman amphitheater is the monument of old Cartagena better known among scholars and students between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, and their structures were visible until the construction of the Plaza de Toros on its ruins. already Francisco Cascales, in his "Discourse of the city of Cartagena" (1598), we reported that Juan Bautista Antonelli, in 1577, and for building the city wall, planned its demolition. "
Currently (although the economic crisis may have stopped their excavation) the idea is to keep the structure of the bullring and dig around the amphitheater.
More information about this historic amphitheatre, here (in Spanish).

2CV
I took the photo of that Citroën 2CV because I was struck by the publicity throughout the body, but above all, I was struck by the 2 spare wheels carried on the roof.

Calatrava's Pedestrian Bridge
This is the Footbridge of Vistabella or Footbridge of Jorge Manrique. It's a very beautiful bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava. At night, it is even more beautiful, thanks to the lights of the same bridge. The floor is made of glass. Despite its beauty, it seems that presents a problem when it rains (luckily, dry weather in Murcia): becomes in a skating rink.
This pedestrian bridge cross the Segura River.

All U Can Eat
Original idea to promote a restaurant in Murcia: Pacoche. 15 euros, 2 guests. Eat all the tapas you can. Includes a drink. Friday and Saturday. Until April 30th.
I include this promotion at MurciaDailyPhoto, because I found very original the way to advertise the restaurant. It is a well known restaurant in Murcia, although I have not gone to taste their dishes.

Spring Festival 2012. Murcian Tapas.
In the city of Murcia, continue with the Spring Festival 2012. As always, the week after Easter. This year's Spring Festival is from 9 to 15 April. It's a good week to taste different Murcian tapas.
I have numbered the plates of some of Murcian tapas:
1. - Pisto (Ratatouille): a fried with vegetables and tomato. It takes eggplant/aubergine, zucchini/courgette, peppers, and tomatoes.
2. - Zarangollo: a scrambled egg with zucchini and onion.
3. - Murcian salad: very fresh salad with onion, boiled egg, tuna, black olives and tinned plum tomato
4. - Salchicha y Longaniza: is a type of sausage, from pork, formerly pig intestines are used to make its elongated shape. It takes some spices like pepper, and in the case of the Longaniza, also clove.
5. - Morcillas (Black pudding): based on blood and onions cooked and pine nuts.
And everything with a Murcian beer (Estrella de Levante)

Bando De La Huerta 2012. Trimak Wheeler. Motocarro Trimak.
Yesterday was the great day of celebration of the customs of the vegetable gardens and orchards: the Bando de la Huerta. Since this year has achieved the status of International Tourist Interest.
I recommend you visit the following links of the photos I took in 2009 from the parade: 1, 2, 3.
On this day, it used to appear quite curious vehicles decked with boughs of lemon or lemon leaves and lemons, with pork meat products, ... . In the picture wheeler Trimak of 1971. The motorized tricycle wheeler or light transport is a tricycle whose front is derived from the mechanical part of a motorcycle and the rear is a futile charge for the delivery vehicle.

Easter Sunday 2012
Yesterday ended Holy Week with Procession of the Risen. A colorful procession.
For those who first see the processions of Murcia, need to know that the Nazarenes carry in their bellies sweets, candies, Easter buns, boiled eggs, ..., to give to children and adults.
And after Easter, comes a week of colours, traditions, parades, food and drink: the Spring Festivals.

Torrijas
The Torrijas is a typical dessert of Lent and Easter, not just in Murcia, but also in Spain, and parts of Latin America . This dessert is very similar to French Toast. I guess this dessert arose in famine time to take the bread was left over from one day to another. There are recipes in the fifteenth century that it appears this dessert.
Recipe:
Use sliced bread. The slices should be of a thickness of about 2 cm. Homemade bread is preferred field or a day or two before preparing the toast as it absorbs better milk. Boil milk (half a liter, for a loaf of bread of 250 g) sugar (125 g), a cinnamon stick, and lemon peel. Pour the hot milk (although I think it is better cold, so the bread does not break) on slices of bread to soak up enough. Then the slices are coated in egg batter and then fry in oil (preferably olive oil) in a very hot pan. Frying the slices are to be browned on both sides. It has prepared a hot syrup made with a pint of water, 125 g of sugar, a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of sweet white wine (muscat type, Malaga, some use instead anise liquor type, etc.). This syrup is prepared by cooking these ingredients previously. As the pan is removed from the container will pass to the syrup and then passed to another tray. If you want you can sprinkle powdered sugar or honey and cinnamon on top.
Enjoy it!

Reliefs By Antonio Campillo
In the facade of the headquarters of CAM in Murcia, you can see these murals, these reliefs by Antonio Campillo (1926-2009) made in the 60's. They are white marble slabs, representing allegories to agriculture and culture because this savings developed these activities, primarily (in that decade was called: Savings Bank of Alicante and Murcia)
In 2008 these reliefs were restored. Here you can see the restoration process.
