I do not know if for sport, or starvation, but there are more people coming down the river to fish.

Although in the 80s appeared a question in Trivial Pursuit on the river Segura that said, "What dirty river does go through Murcia?" (I guess only in the Spanish edition). But that changed, and all the water is purified, and turned the life to the river: waterfowl, fishes. Although I do not know if they are edible.
