Ricote Valley

A perfect image to show the Ricote Valley, where the Segura river crosses mountains, riverside forest and traditional orchards.
The Ricote Valley, also known as the Morisco Valley, is a historic region of the Region of Murcia, in Spain, located north of that Region and in the middle of the Segura River. It is made up of the municipalities of Archena, Ojós, Ricote, Ulea and Villanueva del Río Segura.
Its historical origin with the denomination Valle de Ricote is located at the beginning of the 8th century, with the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula.
If there is a place where you can still feel the sensitivity of the Moorish culture in the environment, that is the Ricote Valley. Winding orchards, river and a special charm are the ingredients that make this valley a true delight for explorers and seekers of genuine experiences. If you are devoted to good food, culture and outdoor sports such as hiking, rafting or climbing, you are in the right place.
