José Selgas Y Carrasco

Although born in Murcia, José Selgas was one of many writers from our region who developed most of his literary work in Madrid.

Along with journalism, the other major activity was the policy Selgas. Moderate Party member, became one of the chief ideologues of conservatism, becoming Member of Parliament.

His literary work is wide and varied, addressing virtually every genre. Perhaps it is poetry, some inspiration Becquerian, the genre that reached more popularity. He also wrote four plays, and a score of novels. (Source: laverdad.es)

This statue is in the garden of Floridablanca, one of the most visited gardens of Murcia. This garden is located in the neighborhood of El Carmen.
