In this place (neighborhood of San Anton), the Franciscans of San Diego was established (XVIII c.), who founded a monastery, which was left to the community until the nineteenth century disentailed process. It was then when the site was established at the convent a silk factory which made his name and fame to the neighborhood. This factory remained in production until mid-twentieth century it was demolished and its site turned into a public garden, which, incidentally, has retained some remnants of the industry as the stack. The garden, as can be found now, is a 1990 design.
