The Former Artillery Barracks in Murcia. Pavilion 2.
Located in the historic El Carmen neighborhood, the Artillery Barracks in Murcia (Cuartel de Artillería) stands as one of the region's most representative examples of early 20th-century Neo-Mudéjar military architecture. Its expansive facade is distinguished by the contrast between ochre and white tones, the polylobed horseshoe arches at the main entrance, panels of decorative tilework, and the characteristic crenellated parapet crowning the building.
Originally built for military use (as the Jaime I Barracks), the complex was decommissioned and renovated into a dynamic cultural, educational, and social center. Today, its pavilions house museums, artistic creation spaces, the Music Conservatory, and multi-purpose halls, such as those found in Pavilions 1 and 2.
