A scare at the Rooster's Crest

 The Rooster's Crest is the name of the mountain peak that can be seen in the background.

A tense calm settled over Murcia the night before the alarms sounded in the hamlet of Los Garres. One of the worst nightmares of summer, which hasn't yet arrived but has already reached 40º C (104º F), became visible from the city's terraces and windows, reminding us of the vulnerability of our green lung.

About 200 people were evacuated during the afternoon when the fire started around 3 a.m. near houses in that hamlet. By nightfall, the fire was still burning and had climbed up the mountain.
