La Ñorica. The Resurgence of a Waterwheel
La Ñorica, also popularly known in the area as the Pacha waterwheel (la Noria de la Pacha), fell into disuse at the beginning of the 20th century and was practically forgotten. Its revival came in the second half of the 1960s, when Pedro García, the owner of the plot of land, decided to restore it himself for personal use. It fell into disuse again, and the current owner (Emilio Laorden Núñez) restored it once more in 2016. Thanks to his efforts (no help from institutions), the waterwheel was saved from disappearing and today stands proudly on the waterwheel route.
It is the smallest of all the waterwheels on the route, with a diameter of 5 meters and 40 buckets. The current structure combines a lightweight metal frame with its traditional wooden components to facilitate its preservation.
