Volcanic Geometry: Lamproite Outcrop.

 Venturing into the old quarry of the Cabezo Negro volcano in Calasparra reveals the Earth's crust displaying its most unique patterns. On the right side of the image, a spectacular wall of lamproite stands out, featuring columnar or prismatic jointing, the result of the slow cooling and contraction of magma within the volcanic conduit.

This geological site of international significance has been designated as Natural Monument.
