Cehegín
Cehegín is a municipality located in Region of Murcia northwest.
Its historic center (In 1982, it was declared a Historic-Artistic Site by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.) is one of the best-preserved in the Region of Murcia. Walking through it reveals steep streets, passageways, churches, and stately homes built between the 15th and 18th centuries, featuring ashlar masonry facades and heraldic coats of arms.
With its fertile and expansive lands, it has been the site chosen by various cultures since the earliest times, from prehistory, with rock art belonging to the Mediterranean Basin tradition of the Iberian Peninsula, through the eras of the Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, Arabs, and Christians.
At the base of the hill, the Argos river valley can be seen.
