The Lantern Demon in Eras Viejas Square
Just a few meters from the dragon, Plaza Eras Viejas (Old threshing floor square or Old garden bed square) conceals another fantastic piece of handcrafted wrought ironwork: a winged demon that appears to be climbing the plaster facade. With a dynamic pose and subtle horns, the figure holds the streetlamp itself in one hand, blending art, legend, and urban lighting into a unique detail of Cehegín’s Old Town.
